An Arts and Culture Center
A PERMANENT COLLECTION OF TORE BJØRN SKJØLSVIK’S ART
The gallery, which opened in the spring of 2019, shows exhibits with different angles in painting and sculpture. The goal is to show Skjølsvik's artistry and TBS Gallery will be there for, among other things. hidden and forgotten artists, such as Tore Bjørn Skjølsvik. Be a cultural center - a multicultural cultural center that makes the impossible possible.
The gallery is the brainchild of Lene Tangevald-Jensen, a journalist, and Olav Nils Sunde, a business owner and investor. To reach a wide audience in Norway and abroad, they saw a need to bring together some of Skjølsvik’s key works in Oslo. In 2017 they found the right location for the gallery at Oscars gate 23.
The two-storey building was designed by Georg Bull (1829–1917), a prominent Norwegian architect. He also designed the main building of Oslo central station (1878–82) and the former Oslo West station (1872), which now houses the Nobel Peace Center.
